Spreading fear and using it as a political tool has been a staple in the Republican playbook for many many years now. I'm trying to account for the sometimes lunatic things that you hear coming out of the mouths of right wingers these days. I'm starting to suspect that if one listened to and believed all the terrible stories of what will happen if you don't vote Republican that the Republican party has been using to push their agenda, it would eventually start to erode ones mental capacity. Constant fear like that will develop into paranoia which will lead to delusional thought, and I think that's what we might be seeing happening now with the conservative right wing in this country, or any country for that matter./ They've been drinking the Fright Flavored KoolAid for too long now and it's starting to show up in the general population of their constituency as paranoid delusional thought processes. It would explain why an entire political party would start to lose their minds collectively and at about the same time./

Yeah, well...

Far too many folks have had their intellect impaired by a Limbotomy.

The brain damage tends to be long-term.

The same place it always leads us. War, social decay, and a loss of all logical sense.

Both political parties use fear tactics however.

One would be hard-pressed to prove that one party is more fear-based than the other. "The rich will eat us unless we eat them first" is the entire substance of the Sanders/Warren pitch.

You mean, like the oft-repeated campaign by Democrats that Republicans will push granny over the cliff?
You must think that was designed to be a comfort to granny -- as long as she votes for Democrats she'll be OK?

Right. And then Obama gutted Medicare. Well, actually we can credit Mr. Reid and his colleagues for gutting it by passing ObamaCare.

Obama always plays the role of the knight in shining armor come to rescue America. Until the Sequester battle where he lied and said it was Republicans idea and went into full blown fear mongering, Obama has been able get away with these tactics. He has been able to do this by counting on his adoring media fans to cover up his litany of deceit and lies that he throws out whenever battling his Republican “enemies”... as other Democrats joined in the fear mongering choir calling them jihadists, arsonists,...

terrorists running around with bombs strapped to their chest and worse

Dems call GOP jihadists, arsonists, terrorists

And Obama's adoring fans parroted the fear mongering.

Both parties use fear to garner support the Dems actually do it better than the Reps.
Remember the whole nonsense over abortion rights and the fear that the Dems put into so many that the Reps will somehow overturn Roe V Wade... Women were writing on their stomachs "hands off my womb" and other such nonsense.

How about the whole myth of the War on Women? Nonsense perpetuated by the Dems to make the Reps look like a bunch of old crusty suits (Ok some of them are) but still..

The Fear is the truth and Reps are good at pointing out the "what if' scenarios which scares people while the Dems are masters at covering up the truth like they are playing the old shell game.

Only a fool would believe everything coming out of a politicians mouth.

So much to learn.

Capable of learning????

Let's see, human caused global warming " for most peoplewho are anxious about climate change, the anxiety is escalated by the fact they do not see an answer. Worry plus powerlessness leads to disress"

"child psychiatrists, educators say they see an escalation in anxiety levels of today's youth"

Pushing gramdma off a cliff... whose sponsored that ad?

Anti islamic videos cause riots and resulted in behghazi

If the repubs don't raise the debt ceiling jobs will be lost......

Repubs want to deprive the poor so the rich can benefit

Hands up don't shoot supported by legislators to foster that lie

If you don;t agree with dem version of imigration reform you hate all Mexicans, south and central americans.

If you say the words islamic terrorists you hate muslims.

If you don't pay for a wealthy law students birth control you hate women.

You are racist if you say the wrong word and therefore hate blacks

If you don't approve our version of the school budget you hate children and teachers

Look to the Dems, the masters of promoiting fear and divison to further their political agenda

Or how about the Dems stating that if we deport illegal aliens (as we should) there will be a separation of families and we will be viewed as evil and heartless by the rest of the world? Anyone with half a brain would know that they can take their kids back to their homelands with them so where is this separation of families thingy? They use words like Nazism and "rounding them up" (as if they are going to burnt in ovens), lol. Oh the horror having to go back to one's homeland and many if not most of them would not face death or starvation either.
