Basically the only people who vote republican are white people who are gullible enough to believe all the garbage the CEO republican politicians tell them. And also people who care about the rich more than themselves.
You're being intellectually dishonest here, or you're uneducated in our history. The KKK has always been a pro-Protestantism, anti-minority conservative group and you are insane if you really want to lump them in with the ideologies of MLK and the progressives. The Democrats and Republicans have essentially switched in the 1800's.

Democrats, who dominated the South, opposed these measures. After the Civil War, Republicans passed laws that granted protections for African Americans and advanced social justice; again, Democrats largely opposed these expansions of power.
Remove the labels, and look at the ideologies. The KKK are of conservative stock. Cognitive dissonance is strong in you.

I know huh. The klan endorsed Obama in 2008 and 2012. They are also pro-marriage equality, believe in letting people of different colors and nationalities immigrate here, AND they just love it when a Jewish family moves in next door to them. The federal govt on average dedicates less than 10% of the budget to social welfare programs. Your outrage is misdirected. You ought to be outraged that we're falling behind in education thanks to Republican budget cuts. Keep 'em uneducated, throw in some Jesus preachin' and you can keep them voting against their own economic interests for decades.
