Idaho Halloween Display Includes Decapitated Obama Head
October 17, 2014 4:03 PM

See here
A rubber Obama mask perched on a wooden pole is this Idaho homeowner's Halloween display. He states that he is exercising free speech...he "doesn't like his policies, and he doesn't like him."

His neighbors have not complained about it either, and the Sheriff's office states he is not breaking any laws. The deputies have given him the "thumbs up" on it.

This isn't a big deal or news worthy at all. And I'm not even a raging R.

No different than when Bush was stabbed, hung, and burned in effigy. Would I do it? No. Do both Black and White, R and D presidents get treated that way by malcontents? Yes. It's not about race, it's about dissatisfaction.

Why would obama be immune from political expression?

what makes him different from political figures throughout our history?

"Political cartoons have been around since Leonardo da Vinci was credited with inventing the caricature. For centuries, critics of government have expressed popular sentiment through the visual medium of political cartooning. Although there is any number of political cartoons on any number of topics, the more famous political cartoons generally stemmed from major movements, as you might expect. Wars and revolutions spawned huge numbers of political cartoons and some became so widely known as to become iconic."

GWB's head was displayed on a spike in Game of Thrones....not a whimper was heard from the same people so outraged over perceived disrespect to their savior.

Obama is often protrayed as an autocrat, a king, not negotiating is Obama's claim to fame, his way or the highway, often compared to a king. Throughout history monarchs have lost their heads when the people felt they were being mistreated.

Then again a removable head on a life sized 'doll' would be an advanatge for moving and storage. Perhaps obama wasn't quite 'put together' in the display. Hard to hide that statement from political commentary or domedic relief. After all his face has a smile.

Could be our government doesn't have a 'head'.

Maybe Obama is considered a 'figurehead'?

Obama apparently is the only US president so closely linked with Americans being beheaded. 'what you do to the least of my children, you do unto me'. So in the vein of traditional political commentary, it is "indeed fitting and just'.

Then again how tempting is it to say an obama head follows in the tradition of the GWB head impaled on a pole? You know, among all the things Obama inherited from GWB.

It is the office of the president that deserves the respect not the temporary resident that occupies that chair unless he earned it and that is left to perception.

I agree. But we must always remember that the total lack of respect for the president (whoever sits in that office) was started by the left. Because of their inherant sense of intellectual superiority they must mock those who do not agree with them.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the issue here. It shouldn't have been been newsworthy when people did this stuff to Bush, just as this Halloween display shouldn't be either. Who cares? Slow news day in Idaho I guess.
