Oh no, he wrote an article that health insurance companies should provide more efficient, coordinated care, including early intervention for chronically sick patients to provide better outcomes. That monster! Plus he can cite examples of insurance companies like Wellpoint providing better care at 20% below what their competitors are doing by adopting new evidence based medicine. How awful!
I guess it's socialist to write articles saying things you disagree with, and expressing ones first amendment rights.
It's socialist to move towards providing better care for patients at lower rates by moving towards better standards of care. I guess it's against health insurance companies "freedom" to approve and pay for whatever they feel like doing for patients instead of the right proven course of treatment...but that's pretty well too bad. If they feel like baking soda is a cure for cancer when the evidence show it doesn't do ****, just because it's cheaper, that's pretty well too bad.
If people feel that's socialist I feel they should be a patient of the insurance company that has the freedom to cut corners with their care.
Those rankings are BS, that's why the WHO stop publishing them for a variety of reasons. Equality of healthcare made up something like 25% of the score if I recall correctly. If for exmaple in Costa Rica each person is getting $1 of healthcare and here in the US the lowest person is getting $1 and the highest $100 Cost Rica would outscore the US because it's equal. Equally poor....
The quality of healthcare in the US is not and has never been the issue. The issue is the cost and access to it.
It remains to be seen. The insurance companies that kept 25% of every dollar have already been pushed aside. The article in The Republic mentions Kaiser Permanante and Group Health as being examples. Those two havent lowered rates that much but do deliver more health care per dollar than the Blues. The rates are about the same but they have usually had more people with health issues enrolled than the Blues. The start of the exchanges has allowed people to move from one insurer to another. As an example I have a relative who switched from a BCBS to Kaiser. How much strain will these moves and taking in the sicker people. Kaiser already raised their rates as did most of the insurers anticipating sicker people. This is where the risk corridors come into play which should protect the companies that enroll the sicker people. The exchanges and the medal levels allow people to compare insurers side by side. Paul Ryan secretly loves the exchanges. Thats what he had planned for Medicare. Remember all that talk about choice?
You're joking right? What good is the "best healthcare system in the world" if most citizens can't afford to use it? That's why our system ranks so low in relation to the rest of the world.
These socialists have ruined the best healthcare system in the world.
It's no surprise. A lot of people chose not to see it coming. We will rue the day when we let this travesty infect America. And I also heard that Obamacare will not cover cases such as cancer or other diseases. It was designed only to cover healthy people.
With that said, if this plan continues to exist and insurance companies go under, then many folks are going to die because of this stupid act. That's because when people really need help, the government could care less and will choose --- on its own will --- to make people wait x amount of time for whatever care they need. It won't be worth it in the end. Our health care system did not need to be changed.
The issue with Kaiser and other said systems is most Americans like their choices of faculties and providers.
Cost savings come at a compromise. A very big compromise. Single payer and ACA proponents secretly do not want to Say this.
The public has been mislead on the ACA from day one back when the law was finally signed.
