I also think that there are people without degrees that are very smart. It's just they made bad decisions and can't recover from them to be able to go to college.

You need to have some understanding of the question, before you can make a smart decision on it...

Some type of unbiased measurement - results of that 'test' would enable your 'vote' to count on, let's say a scale from 1 to 10 -
Someone who doesn't do well would, in this example, get a lower 'vote count' - than someone who understood what it was they were voting on.

It's out of reach to ever expect this - as it's not allowing everyone's vote to count evenly - but some people going to polls are complete and total IDIOTS - just look at who they've elected twice in the last 7 years....

This political bit of satire brought to you commercial free....

We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast.....
It would be nice if votes only counted when the voter could correctly match names of the candidates with their photographs. These days with electronic voting this wouldn't be that hard to do. Or at least correctly pick/say/identify the names of at least 2 candidates in cases of visual impairment.

Life is constant education. When people think they are always right they can no longer learn and won't progress.

Why did rich people always have a libraries (before the internet), that is to continue their education. Today more people than ever have the ability to educate themselves if they wanted.

I constantly hear people complaining that people that don't know anything about economy, democracy, etc. are voting and messing up the country.

What do you think of passing a law that says that only people with college degrees can vote
Would that make us a better country?
What in God green earth would make you give a choice indicating people without college degrees are dumb? There are people without much education that are extremely smart and people with advanced degrees with absolutely no common sense.

One of the dumbest posts this week.

Michael Dell doesn't have a college degree. Brilliant man, surely deserves to vote.

And of course, the simple standard of the OP's proposal assumes everyone needs a college degree to be educated.

It would probably make us a more Republican country.

totally different. I was a huge supporter of the vote at 18 amendment, now I am not so sure, but if a young person can fight for our country they should have some say so.

I am in favor of requiring that every citizen must vote. Make it a requirement of citizenship. It may never happen. If it were to happen I think it would happen as a push by the Dem. to side line the republican party to a life time of sitting on the bench. Giving the rise of minority population and the claim that they vote Dem. to office and the near equal numbers of the two parties now. It would eventually create opportunity for another party that might more clearly represent the majority.
Voting based on eliminating any segment of society hinders the claim or idea of justice for all.
