I do. Seriously, you don't care if 15 year olds do drugs? I got high at 15 but I'm not about to argue it was a good thing. I support legalization, but not for 15 year olds. As I say above though, I'm not for making people prove they are innocent without a very valid reason.
I know teens will get high but that doesn't mean I don't care.
Since sports is not an academic requirement I would have no problem with drug testing everyone involved with sports as well as all administrators and anyone that has any contact with children from the Janitor to the Principal.
Parochial schools are not immune to drug use either so they should be included as well and yes all 3 of my children went to parochial school through high school and one through college and they all were involved in sports and I would have no problem giving permission for drug tests.
I don't know what the situation is now but steroid abuse was fairly common in my HS in the 80's
Those high school linemen on the football teams are still average 100 lbs larger then their counterparts in the 1970s. And at the top end the 80s players were 50 lbs bigger then their little brothers who played in the 70s and today's players are 100 lbs bigger then their parents. All this happened when body building and Olympic use of performance enhancing drugs became generally known. I don't think we are talking about human evolution being the difference.
On the other hand we have constitutional protections against such searches. However since sports are voluntary why not is the thought. After all world class 16 year old Olympic athletes must pass test. That they have scientific medical teams to shield their drug use from the detectives that the 14 year old struggling to make it to the high school sports level won't have access to is a different issue.
This issue has recently blown up in my hometown with the high school requiring random drug testing for high school athletes. Do you also find this to be too invasive and an obvious violation of civil liberties?

Do you really think that a drug test is going to stop them doing drugs? All it does is make the school pat themselves on the back and the parents feel better. Those same kids doing drugs, will still be doing them after the test. And no, I really don't care if 15 year olds are doing drugs. At least not enough to worry about justifying pointless tests for feel goods sakes.
HGH, human growth hormone, is one of the performance enhancing drugs kids are taking today that alters their developing bodies. Combine HGH, steroids, other drugs, and a developing body and you have the potential for trouble.
