He is committed to the "renewable" resource industry, to the exclusion of fossil fuels, as somehow more environmentally friendly. It would be fine as long as the wind would always blow and the sun would always shine but there are some realities involved with that, aren't there?
I really get tired of seeing mountainsides and valleys festooned with acres of wind turbines and that "whooomp whoomp" sound they make, or even worse, that same scene with turbines completely idle. If it was worth doing private industry would be doing it without handouts or assistance or grants.
Hopefully the new congress and senate can open ANWR and offshore drilling, authorize the Keystone, bring energy independence back to North America and reap the benefits of cheaper energy. The statists here love talking about the Clinton years, and the balanced budget and job growth. Well, the price of oil was between $12 and $20 a barrel. And that with no gummint subsidies.
Why does Obama lie? It sure seems like he prefers a lie to the truth. I believe that he is an idealist, a zealot in his beliefs. Zealots lie to make their case and even believe their own lies. When caught they will deflect, or seek to justify the need to lie. They know what's best for everyone else after all.

What he doesn't tell you is how far he has gone to slow walk new permitting on public lands, his War on Coal, Fracking and that ALL the gain in US energy production is happening on private land. But don't despair, his radicalized EPA is doing all they can to shut it down.
Obama has been the greatest impediment to the expansion and development of energy on federal land. It is outrageous that he would take credit for something he has so ardently opposed, but this is typical of this pathologic liar.
