I believe they did the opposite of what they are trained to do. Driving up quickly and stopping with your partner sitting just 4 feet from a dangerous gunman is not protocol.
Looks like they had a choice of driving on one side of the barrier or the other, shooting from 30-50 feet away would be difficult and they used their car as a shield. They were more than 20 feet away looks like the kid walked towards them in the video. If only he put his hands up he would be alive, tragic.
There should be rioting over this incident. It's more egregious than the shooting of Michael Brown.
I don't care if the cops were white, black, or green --- they over-reacted, they did not try to even ASSESS the situation, let alone de-escalate, or give the "suspect" a second to know what was going on, they did not take even a few seconds to observe that they were dealing with a 12-year-old CHILD.
But there won't be....a white cop did not do the shooting...
Are you willing to take that chance, it's a toy gun?
Be honest in your answer...
What I was meaning to imply is the kid did not intentionally go for his toy gun. Once the cops stupidly put themselves in that vulnerable position they had no choice but to fire.

Why is shooting the first option? The dispatcher never said anything about shots being fired.
They didnt even give him a chance to put his hands up.
