GOP lawmaker proposes Obamacare replacement: Rely on Jesus for health care
Gordon Klingenschmitt (R), a state representative in Colorado, is proposing repealing the ACA and in its place, Americans should turn to God for their health care.
"If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you,’” Klingenschmitt said, quoting Exodus 15."
And btw, studies have shown that religious faith does tend to improve health. The jury is out on whether Obamacare does, but I doubt that there is much cause for optimism.
You sound like a perfect candidate for this plan. I hope it works out for you!
Maybe we should return to a system where everyone paid for health care out of their savings. If they don't have the money they can go get it like the chemistry teacher in "Breaking Bad". If they still don't have enough, they can just die sooner than they would with proper care.
I do not think the insurance business would like the loss of revenue along with the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
Trusting GOD with your health may be a bad idea because you have to trust that all the priests, profits and preachers got the rules right. Under this idea even if you break a rule that they did not know about not only will you die but you will go to hell as well. Do you want to take that risk or do you want a health care system that provide the money needed to keep you alive for a bit longer?
Why doesn't the GOP publicly denounce this kind of nonsense? Until they do, how do we know he doesn't represent the entire GOP?
I am sure this is a hoax.
