"Muslim leaders from across America will gather in Texas this weekend to hold the annual Stand With the Prophet in Honor and Respect conference, a weekend forum that is being billed as a “movement to defend Prophet Muhammad, his person, and his message,” according to event information. Organizers of the event place the blame for Islam’s bad reputation on the media and so-called American Islamophobes who have “invested at least $160 million dollars to attack our Prophet and Islam,” according to the conference web page. The event is being backed by several Muslim groups, including SoundVision, an Illinois-based website that provides advice and products to Muslims; RadioIslam, an AM radio station based in Chicago; and MuslimFest."
MuslimFest? Have you ever heard of it? Was going to criticize the media for not covering it (an annual arts and entertainment event) but it's held in Canada (since 2004) and we know we can't even get the US media to go to flyover country in the US unless there's a natural .disaster or big crime so Muslims shouldn't be surprised they won't report on an entertainment event in Canada.

Sounds to me like people getting together to have a good time and celebrating their faith. I find the whole notion of celebrating a "faith" as being utterly ridiculous and silly, but it's none of my business.
They should be allowed to have their assembly in Texas in relative peace, and be left alone unless there's some evidence of them doing something wrong.

We've all seen how Muslims "defend" Moohammad and the interpretations of his insanity. This gathering isn't a party, and has no place in Western or any other society.

Then go put a stop to it.
Otherwise, stop yammering over nothing.
"interpretations of his insanity?" All superstition is insane. Wanna stop insane interpretations? Start with your local church, mosque or synagogue.
"Keynote speakers at the event will include Georgetown University professor John Esposito, founding director of the school’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, which has come under fire for, among other things, hosting 9/11 Truthers and a member of Egypt’s Nazi Party.
Also scheduled to attend the forum is controversial New York-based Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who was an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings trial. Wahhaj has called the FBI and CIA the “real terrorists” and expressed a desire for all Americans to become Muslim, according to the New York Post."

Sounds like some real peaceful winners.
Will they have beer?
"The Imam of At-Taqwa is Siraj Wahhaj, who appeared on a list of unindicted coconspirators in the trial of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. Wahhaj provided testimony during the trial to defend the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel-Rahman, the former leader of the Egyptian terrorist organization, Gama'a al-Islamiyya. Rahman was found guilty of "conspiracy to murder President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt," "solicitation to attack a military installation," and of bombing conspiracy related to a plot to bomb the New York FBI headquarters along with tunnels and other landmarks. During Wahhaj's testimony, he called the Sheik a "respected scholar," also calling him "bold, as a strong preacher of Islam." In addition to these ties, Wahhaj has made extremist statements while lecturing at the Islamic Association of Northern Texas. In November of 1991, Wahhaj advocated the establishment of an Islamic State in the U.S."
