I fear that this "hate speech" laws will be coming soon, because the crazy Obama left will demand them. This is why the Tea Party's idiotic purity tests--which Ronald Reagan would fail--do nothing other than empower the MSNBC fringe. If any Democrat wins in 2016, the balance of the Supreme Court will tilt and the socialists will control everything.
The far right has to grow up, realize that it will not get 100% of what it wants, and back a "RINO" (though not Romney, who is a surefire loser because of his gaffes) who at least has a chance of winning the election. (I'm sure somebody may bring up Dole and McCain's losses as evidence that "RINOs" can't win, but could a "true conservative" have defeated the Democrats in 1996 or 2008, in all honesty?)

I highly doubt this because it hasn't happened in the past 6 years. If anything, it would have happened right after 9/11, but that did not happen.

"The socialists will control NOTHING. Do you know why that is?
THERE ARE NO SOCIALISTS IN THE USA IN POLITICS!!!!!!!
The 1st amendment was not put in place to discuss the weather.
It was there to discuss very controversial things about our government. Even inciting a revolution is not against the intent of the 1st amendment.
The tree of liberty is refreshed with the blood of tyrants and patriots.
If there isn't, then there is a damn good imitation of the breed.
It's obvious that you don't have a clue what either a socialist or socialism is!
It seems the right wingers in the USA think Progressivism and socialism are somehow synonymous.
That is absolutely not the case. A progressive can be as right wing as it gets in reality. Our present government in Canada could be called "Progressive conservative" ideologically even if they are a very conservative government. Far to the right of GW Bush. So please, get educated! Make political discourse. actually mean something.
If you were a botanist how would you like debating someone who insisted a clover was a tree?
Just curious how many of you believe so-called "Hate Speech" laws will be implemented in this country?
Personally, I tend to think so. I won't get into which groups/factions I believe would support them. But it seems from many posts on whatever topic, there are some out there who back laws that would restrict/prohibit certain speech/writings they believe is "intolerant" of others (however defined). Also, there is a generation growing -- in fact, already of age in many cases -- that honestly believe they have some kind of "right" to not be offended.
Anyway, which of the choices best indicates your outlook on it all?
I think it's likely, but they won't be upfront about it. They'd be disguised in some arbitrary anti-discrimination law with some nonsense about public safety or something. They would never be able to pass a law that blatantly prohibits something that can be considered hate speech. No member of the Supreme Court could possibly allow that with a clear conscious.
