ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey casino says one of its restaurants intended to honor Martin Luther King Jr. by offering fried chicken, collard greens and macaroni and cheese.
Some Twitter users objected to what they considered racially offensive choices. Others called the criticism political correctness run amok.
Joe Lupo, senior vice president of the Borgata in Atlantic City, says The Metropolitan restaurant chose menu items that were among King's favorite foods, as documented in numerous historical sources. He says the restaurant's manager is an African-American woman and that she chose the menu intending to honor King.
Lupo says the casino's restaurants offer menus geared toward holidays, including Chinese meals at Chinese New Year and Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo
Really!??? Some people just purposely look to get offended by something .

Yep,I really don't if there is such a thing as "black food" to me southerners black, white, latino, indian all love the same kind of food...I love watermelon, fried chicken, mac and cheese,cornbread...
Its really not a "black food" but considering they were honoring Martin Luther King, and he was from the south, they figured they'd put out a southern menu in his honor.

I don't find that offensive, they were honoring MLK. You're right, some people will get offended just to be offended. Case in point, this very forum.
That could have been staved off by simply calling the macaroni and cheese, "pasta".
Chicken and pasta is acceptable to liberals.
Really? I like mac n cheese. I'm a liberal. I also like pasta.
