Holder and Obama could have spoken up long ago to quell the media/liberal witch hunt against Officer Wilson, and to remind people of his civil right of due process of law, and that he should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Instead they wait until all the damage has been done; he's lost his job, probably lost his career, and millions of low info types are doubtless still convinced that did something wrong. And Holder and Obama in essence say, oops our bad, you did nothing wrong; you were only defending your life. No civil rights violation here. You're free to go on your way, (ex) Officer Wilson. Too bad your life is ruined.

Suppose the shoe had been on the other foot. Suppose Wilson had been a black cop, and Brown had been a white biker. In the first place it never would have been a national story, but if it had, Obama and Holder would have been squarely in the cop's corner, and so would the media and activists. As well they should. The cop would not have been forced out of his job and career. We have a racist admin, and a racist media. That's what this boils down to.

It was a "witch hunt" and it spread across the country - there was one of those "Die In's" in the Senate Cafeteria yesterday. For what? an election to "get out the vote"?

Lives and business ruined. A community in flames. They may never recover from all this hoop-la.

What does one do when there is a moderator that behaves this way?
Go to another board.

Can't say I'm surprised, the evidence required to charge an officer with the death of a civilian is pretty steep. Being Black also kind of doesn't make it any easier. Them's the breaks, I suppose.

It is neither steep nor mild. If someone is trying to kill you, you get to kill them first. It doesn't matter whether it's an officer and civilian, two officers, or two civilians. What is the evidence that race had any bearing in this case? There was none.

I'm generally anti-cop. I think that US cops are generally out of control, unaccountable, and institutionally corrupt. But in this case, the cop had a right to defend himself after Brown tried to snatch his gun, presumably to shoot Wilson. I don't know why else a guy would try to snatch a cop's gun. What would you prefer? That Wilson just lie down and let Brown kill him?

Race issues here in 2015 are still very much alive, and we also know who is keeping Race issues, at the forefront of our problems. Most of us do.
