I have to wonder about the basic morality of a society that makes working for survival the be all and end all of an individual's life.
I hear ya, Greg. Let's all just do whatever the hell we want and wait for someone else to give us all food, clothing, and shelter paid for with the money they earned. /SMH

At some point...money runs out. What will happen to our poor when the recent impoverished guests streaming into the USA need food stamps? I suspect their needs will come at the expense of poor Americans. Why don't you go down to a shelter and pass out sandwiches? I predicted this.......
If they can't afford food what makes you think they can afford to move? MAYBE Maine government should help these people find work so they wouldn't need SNAP.

These are non issues...including food stamps for all....I worry about ISIS and other terrorists groups ramping up. Without a country, food stamps matter little.

Maine, like most states has chosen not to mandate biometric ID. They are unwilling to take action that would make in- state employment of the undocumented more challenging for employers, small business. 78% of small business has no Payroll. I wonder what percentage of them employ undocumented?
The undocumented don't take the jobs of the documented. Rather, The US people recruit and employ the undocumented. If the employment of the undocumented were subject to very serious consequences, the undocumented would likely return home and stay home.
Instead, of blaming the root cause of illegal immigration- employment, it's easier to blame people who risk everything to enter the US to work.
And just who has the presidents ear? The GOP? Large employers.

That is the society of money and completely devoid of any compassion for others along with worship of those that do not need to work because of their wealth. Why is a jobless peasant an object of derision while a rich person living on an annuity a object of envy? Neither are creating any wealth. Both are equally useless.
Working for survival is a result of us being nothing more than animals. If we don't work, we don't survive. It's really that simple.
How "moral" is it to decide you don't want that pesky little "eating and shelter" thing to be the be all and end all of your life. Because you still have to eat, which means you take someone else's property to support yourself. By force. Again, how moral is that exactly?
Completely devoid of any compassion? Hardly. And the liberals that are the ones that are screaming the loudest about cutting back on food stamps are also the ones that donate less than conservatives when it comes to charity. There's your "morality". As well as your "hypocrisy".
