Liberal website Alternet shows how to deal with DUI checkpoints.
Have your documents (driver's license, insurance...) in a pouch outside your window along with a note saying "I want my lawyer". Do not open the window (so they can't claim they smell booze) and do not speak (so they can't claim your speech is slurred).

That's not really the point but granted, the site doesn't do a great job presenting the problem with all of this. A better idea is to stop those who the police have an actual suspicion of driving intoxicated.

altenet is just reporting the claims of libertarian attorney warren redlich. you have just done the exact same thing that you seem to be critical of alternet doing....... repeating the specific claims of warren redlich on how to beat a DUI check.

Support your local ACLU. My Gov. Christine Gregoire (D, WA) tried to get the checkpoints enacted and the ACLU shot her down. She retired, and we don't have checkpoints in WA.

I agree with this. I certainly don't support drunk driving, but freedom from the police is more valuable to me.
