There are russian out-of-uniform soldiers fighting there, following the iranian model of placing their troops without uniforms in conflicts so that various useful idiot diplomats and similarly unintelligent apologists can claim they "haven't started a war in like 7 million years" or similar crap.
And iran has troops in FOUR other countries, waging wars in syria, iraq, lebanon, and yemen - plus fomenting another war in gaza through its terrorist proxy there, hamas.

A handful of malcontents going to syria vs. state-sponsored, hegemonic efforts moving whole divisions, tanks, armor amid a full-scale invasion akin to war are not comparable situations.
