Looking back on all of the different news stories coming out of Florida over the years I wonder how the world views us? You would wonder after reading news about Florida if people think we are insane?
Many of the news from Florida makes international headlines:
The George Zimmerman murder trial of teen Trayvon Martin
The Casey Anthony Murder trial of her daughter Caylee
The Zombie Cannibal attacker trying to eat the face of a homeless man in Miami
The Florida gator who attacked and killed a thief who jumped into a lake to escape police
The SeaWorld Trainer Dawn Brancheau killed by a killer whale during a performance
The 2000 Presidential election where hanging chads, confusing ballots, and recounts stopped the election
The story of little Cuban immigrant Elian Gonzalez forced back to Cuba at gunpoint.
The story of the 90 year old pastor arrested for feeding the homeless.
The controversy of Latinos attempting to vote Spanish in as the second official language (it failed)
etc....
We have the beaches and the sun and Disney World but we also have all this controvery. What does the world think about Florida?
It's a big state and every area I have a different feeling for. Most of the coast is nice for a visit (sans big cities) the cities seem to be a bit grungy, and the keys are a place I'd totally live.
I don't live there so what does it matter what I think?
