It's not contrived outrage, this is a staged event by Giuliani and the extreme members of the GOP. Giuliani wasn't even supposed to be a speaker but the ex-NYC mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis invited him on a whim and also put him on his radio show this week. He repeatedly and directly claimed that Obama was unpatriotic based on opinion over the course of several days, no facts.
Giuliani was wrong let's start there.
If Giuliani was wrong, then Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Barack Obama were also wrong --- yet Obama groupies are not up in arms over them.
This is either contrived outrage or hypocritical outrage that borders insanity.
I addressed your point as you requested (without insulting you or anyone else). I challenged you to respond with an objective rational response without tossing out any ad hominem attacks or insulting people.
You just could not do it, could you? This is why the Obama haters have zero credibility. They cannot put forth a logical rational argument without insulting anyone who disagrees with them. It is simply not possible to debate people who are so emotionally invested in their political opinions. They take everything personally and resort to insults and name-calling.
The fact that you think you make "rational objective" responses shows how overboard you truly are for Obama.
Your emotional love for Obama clouds your logic.
I am the one using logic and facts -- which is why you can only focus on correctly being called out for your emotional attachment to Obama -- while I focus on logical arguments and how absurd Obamabots are on this thread.
1) You Obamabots play dumb with the definition of unpatriotic.
2) You Obamabots play dumb with Obama's whole speech(es) against Bush.
3) Obama (D) questioning Bush's (R) love for his country = not a problem.
4) Al Gore (D) questioning Bush's (R) love for his country = not a problem.
5) Bill Clinton (D) questioning Obama's (D) love for his country = needs to be quickly swept under the rug.
6) Giuliani (R) questioning Obama's (D) love for his country = Giuliani's name is tarnished forever!
7) Attending a church for ~2 Decades where the pastor is clearly unpatriotic and "God D@^&s America" right after 9-11 isn't a possible sign of not loving America as is.
8) Having friends that hated America to the point where some even became domestic terrorists isn't a possible sign of not loving America as is.

Obama's comments were relative to the deficit but he was wrong using the words unpatriotic. His point was that deficits weaken our country, Giuliani made a blanket statement that Obama was unpatriotic and repeated the same over a number of days without anything specific. I see this on a different level.
It's actually sad to see a guy like Rudy who was an effective political leader reduced to the feeble position of partisan attack dog.
Anyone thinking that this was a mere slip of the lip is naive beyond all hope.
This was a planned maneuver calculated to appeal to the radical religious right. Judging from responses, it worked as it was intended to. The Obamaphobic fringe is salivating like a pack of Pavlov dogs after Rudy rang their bell.
Rudy must be very desperate to regain some attention by agreeing to play this bit part. He obviously wants to keep his hand in the political game and must have figured that this was his only option at present.

Rev. Wright volunteered for the Marines and then the Navy during the Vietnam War and was part of a unit preparing to be deployed to Cuba during the Cuba missile crisis. Rev. Wright demonstrated his patriotism by actually serving, not just giving lip service.
Rev. Wright's "Confusing God and Government" sermon was not delivered right after 9-11.
As a reflection of what right-wingers consider "family values".
