Let's pretend it's an island like one of the ones in a Far Side cartoon. What would be their plan to start an island economy and raise the standard of living for everyone? I'm guessing they would do something like this:
  • Create more laws, especially complicated ones, so as create a demand for accountants and lawyers and thus "create jobs"
  • Welcome hostile neighboring tribes onto the island. Let them have free everything.
  • Artificially inflate the price of huts, making hutowners believe they're rich
  • Use grains of sand as money. When the economy slows down because of a shortage of fish and coconuts, simply gather more pieces of sand and use it to pay people to dig holes and fill them back up.

A priest, a rabbi and a minister walk into a bar. The bartender says, "What is this? Some kind of a joke?"

First law is all decisions are decided by voting (no leaders like Rush Limbaugh telling everyone what to think.)

Everyone would get a hut for free. But the republicans would sell huts so a rich man on the island could have a 100x nicer hut than everyone else.

Its the republicans that would start using money on the island so one man can get the most money and then everyone else could become his servants.

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if (you) can?
- JOHN LENNON.

Liberals dream of a world without money where the human brain controls our destiny (instead of round pieces of metal and pieces of paper with numbers controlling our destiny.)

Its the republicans that would start using money on the island so one man can get the most money and then everyone else could become his servants.

What a fantasy,

Here's a question. Obama and Nancy Pelosi are drowning and you have only enough time to save one. What kind of sandwich would you make?

Reminds me of a joke I heard in Scotland, where some of the people are very serious about their church.

A Scottish lad was stranded on a deserted island. Finally, a British ship passed by. The captain was shown around by the Scot, and he was impressed at how the Scot had built not only a nice shelter for himself, but also two churches.

"Why do you have two churches", the captain asked.

"One is the church I go to. The other is the church I don't go to!"

Can you explain this?

Wall Street investment banks also get from federal loan guarantees what amounts to an $83 billion subsidy. “It’s tantamount to giving the banks about 3 cents of every tax dollar collected,” said the editors of Bloomberg View.

the recklessness of Wall Street bankers. But Democrats gave them an edge in 2010 when they imposed crushing burdens on smaller competitors who’d done nothing wrong.

The party of the rich isn’t the one you thought it was.

My question is...would one of them be allowed to control the others by force or would they just work together equally? They might go through withdrawals without state power.
