I won't even link to it: President Obama: 'There's no excuse for violence in Baltimore'
Stop it already! Everyone was listening to him the last time he gave this same lecture, that's why there's nobody rioting in Baltimore this time - right???
Why does he think he is supposed to do this? I do not advocate for the rioting - that is just destroying their own "ecosystem", but it get's on my last nerve that he does this every time, speaking in that nippy, pursed-lipped manner.
Oh, but I am loving the smarmy condescension he is heaping on the anti-trade "progressive" Democrats about fast-track trade authority and the Pacific trade deal. See how the left likes that! Everybody else has been taking it for six long years.
You are right, now his critics can't scream with fake indignation, "Goddamn it, do or say something!!!!! You are the leader of the blacks, uh, I mean, the free world!!!" or "Show some leadership!!!! Whatever that means!!!" Crying shame, opportunities lost.
Reading through the transcript, since I never watch these things...
Now, the challenge for us as the federal government is, is that we don’t run these police forces. I can’t federalize every police force in the country and force them to retrain. But what I can do is to start working with them collaboratively so that they can begin this process of change themselves.
So... this means he has indeed federalized SOME police forces. Police forces that get federal money, are pretty much under federal control. But he can't do them all... interesting.
If we are serious about solving this problem, then we’re going to not only have to help the police, we’re going to have to think about what can we do — the rest of us — to make sure that we’re providing early education to these kids; to make sure that we’re reforming our criminal justice system so it’s not just a pipeline from schools to prisons; so that we’re not rendering men in these communities unemployable because of a felony record for a nonviolent drug offense; that we’re making investments so that they can get the training they need to find jobs. That’s hard. That requires more than just the occasional news report or task force. And there’s a bunch of my agenda that would make a difference right now in that.
this is where he should get specific. He is black, right? He's the President... He should talk directly to these people and tell them that this behavior is intolerable and they will be prosecuted if caught. He won't be called a racist. Well, that didn't happen.

He's not about to insult the Democrat base like that.
