What do we need comic book stores for anyway?

Or bookstores for that matter.

The digital age has done morw damage to bookstores and comic books than the minimum wage does. Also, I believe Borderlands isn't closing now.

A very basic principle in economics is that increasing prices causes less consumption and declining prices causes more consumption. Therefore, it is inevitable that increasing labor costs will produce less demand for those laborers and more unemployment.

Oh, I know, businesses should be free to pay employees as little as they want, even if they run a business in a shrinking industry. You know, minimum wage increases is what led to the death of the CD Music stores too.

And people should be able to sell their labor for as much or little as they can. Politicians have no business dictating anyones pay.
Your CD analogy is more idiocy

The stores with the smallest margins of profit will close first.

SF has a high COL. Between that and the higher labor costs one has to have a high priced, in-demand item to sell.

That's just plain old simple economics of running a business.

Revenue - expenses = profit/(loss)

Starbucks for example sells high priced coffee. They are trendy and in-demand..they're the cool kids on the block.
Starbucks would not be able to continue operations if they just sold $1.00 cups of coffee while still maintaining high labor costs.
Starbucks also has a huge online shopping presence which helps to offset their brick and mortar costs.

I see my point when over your head, minimum wage didn't kill the CD Music store industry, technology did. Same goes for books and comic books. It is funny how you guys like to ignore that fact while clamoring for businesses to pay American workers as little as possible.

You leftists make me laugh. If it wasn't minimum wage that killed these businesses why are they closing now and not before minimum wage was raised?

Don't bother attempting to answer.
