Lowering housing requirements? Gee seems like we tried that in the early 2000's. How'd that turn out?

Anyone who stays at minimum wage for more than a few months has issues particular to their situation that cannot be resolved by simply mandating an across-the-board minimum wage hike.

I like how people assume that just because you work hard and do a good job you will get a raise. Unfortunally it does not work like that in the real world. If you do get a raise it will probably not be much maybe .10-.20.

If you don't get a raise at least once a year, then you need to seek employment elsewhere. Period.

That is how it works.

The get a raise above minimum wage all you have to be is better than the bare minimum.

Just showing up on time will get you a dollar or two raise above minimum wage.

So what do you do if you can not find work that pays more? Someone has to work that job that does not get a raise?

It would be nice if you got out in the real world. I have actually worked low wage jobs and I know this many times is not how it happens. You are putting to much faith in employers that they will reward hard work some do some do not. Employers do not have to give you raises if they do not want to.

You're grasping at straws. There's no place in America where all the available jobs are minimum wage jobs that don't offer raises.

Name me one job where it has been factually confirmed that the employees are paid minimum wage in perpetuity.

In the event that such a job exists, it should be filled by a succession of people who work that job temporarily until they find something better.

I'm talking about the many leftie multimillionaires who keep pressing the issue.

They should put THEIR money where their mouth is.

They won't.

BTW..."low wage workers" are low wage because they are low skill workers, incapable of running a business.

One should only get a raise if they increase their value to the business.....not simply by hanging in.
