SB-277 is a Democratic sponsored bill eliminating most of the ability of parents to object to getting their children vaccinated if they wish their children to attend public school. The Republicans have been in cintact with the protest leaders and yesterday proposed several amendments to address parental concerns only to have them all shot down by the Dems. With the protest level on the increase, and with most of these protestors being liberal and protesting the Democrats will this have a negative impact on Democrat fortunes in CA going forward.

Here is a facebook page about the protests being organized by liberals against Democrats at their annual convention near Disney this weekend.

Umm, this is already the run in Alabama, a very red state. When i was in high school, i had not gotten my updated vaccinations and was told I would be suspended from school until I did.

Why is this seen as liberalism when it is actually agree upon by both sides ????

Yes, but their voters are not. Hence my thread. You see my boss, most liberal person i ever met. I made a joke about all the media comments on how it was only tea party conservatives who were anti-vaccine. He got all huffy and went on a rant about how it was liberals that were the driving force against ll these "Monsanto made chemicals" being injected into their kids. Lok at the locations of the biggest protests thus far like Berkeley and Hillcrest in San Diego, won't find many consevatives in these places.

Umm, let's see, Democrats have a near supermajority in both CA Houses, they sponsored the bill. When committee meetings were scheduled and mass waves pof Dmocrat voters protested the bill, future meetings were cancelled and the bill fast tracked. Probably to gain political points the Republicans, while debate was open on the CA Senate floor, proposed amendments to address the concerns of protestors, all those amendments were shot down. A great Kodak moment was when the president of the CA Senate, tired of parents clapping every time the Pubs proposed an amendments, threatened to have their kids removed form the gallery.

One of the bills provisions prevents, like you referenced, that kids without vaccs will be removed form schoil, the law requires that you still have to home scholl on an individual basis, the Republican amendment would allow parents to pool thier home schooling within a neighborhood, up to, IIRC 10 students. The Dems, operating under threat of the teachers union voted that down.

Remember this is CA, a very large fractionn of the liberal community is anti-corporate non GMO in food and the like, hell they pay me $20/doz for free range duck eggs. Because of the large population, thosends of kids supposedly harmed by vaccinations can be paraded about.

My ultimate point is, we have a law that is being railroaded through by the Democrat Party in this state, that the Democrate electorates hates with a passion. What will be the impact going forward.
