Businesses, like individuals vote with their feet. How many times have you heard the phrase "get three quotes" when purchasing something? How many times have you purchased a car from a competing dealership because the price was lower? Did you question the salesperson about what their "need" is 1st? Maybe the more expensive guy had a higher "need" than the lower priced one?

What about other services? Maybe that roofer whos price was higher than the roofer you hired had a greater "need". Did you ask? Do you care?

Why are lefties so fixated on the tax rate that corporations pay as long as they bring jobs to the area?

Because all too often larger corporations are finding too many ways to hide their taxes, thus making it impossible for smaller companies to effectively compete. These dodged taxes cause taxpayers to have to pick up the slack.

I haven't seen many leftists say we should tax companies more.....have you?

I would like to see big corporations actually paying taxes rather than trying to pay zero in taxes and then asking the government for more handouts....

I don't know what lefties think, but as long as the corporations pay taxes like I have to pay taxes, then I don't care.

[they shouldn't get a pass]

As a small business owner, I'd love to see large corporations pay the same percentage taxes I do.

How many corporations get meaty tax concessions from a state then lay-off people or outsource?

How many corporations get a pass on state environmental laws to save a few dozen relatively crappy jobs?

This is exactly my complaint. Our corporate rates haven't changed much in the last 20 years, and yet the tax income as a % of GDP has been dropping. And we regularly see larger companies hit close to 0% taxation. Mom and pop stores often pay more. Its obscene. People like you (mlassoff) should be able to compete on a level corporate taxation rate.

How many time do you have to be told. Obama and democrats cast a net that got those small businesses who can't side step that tax increase. I never saw anyone who loves other people paying taxes like you do. Get off it... the only people higher taxes benefited was big government and big business.

Sigh.
The tax issue is not a democratic issue. This has been occurring for decades. Unless Obama truly has a time machine your response trying to frame t that way is nonsense.

Get off what? My belief that small and large companies should have a level playing field?

No.

I bet I could find at least 100 threads about "corporate welfare".

Besides, it's the government that lefties love that make the rules that they hate.
