I am fit flat abs, work out, eat right, drink my water, but know that moderation is the key. Some people only have S'mores for gosh sakes once or twice a year, and it will not hurt you. In fact Dark Chocolate in moderation is actually good for you. I think when a family goes camping as we did when younger, and when our kids were growing up into teenagers, you experience the whole camping trip with your family. And nature.

S'mores trust me, ain't going to hurt no one, because I do not know many people who eat them, except when they go camping. And there comes a time, when families ought to decide what is best for their own family. Having S'mores while camping is part of a camping tradition, don't change it.

Sometimes some people can go overboard, it is one thing, and turns into something else, then another thing, when does it stop.

I love strawberry's and eat them and yes appreciate O.C. Strawberry's. But yougart and strawberry's s'mores, just does not appeal to me, and I am a healthy eater. I say try it if you must, but leave my S'mores alone.
What is overboard about sharing a recipe? People share recipes all the time. No one said you had to eat it. I dont get offended when people share recipes with pork despite the fact that it's unclean in my belief. Goodness...

But that isn't what we are talking about. Calling this mess a "S'more" on the USDA website and posting it for this stated purpose is nonsensical at best.
ChooseMyPlate.gov provides practical information to individuals, health professionals, nutrition educators, and the food industry to help consumers build healthier diets with resources and tools for dietary assessment, nutrition education, and other user-friendly nutrition information. As Americans are experiencing epidemic rates of overweight and obesity, the online resources and tools can empower people to make healthier food choices for themselves, their families, and their children.
Waste of tax dollars.
How is the ChooseMyPlate.gov website any different or any more a waste of tax payer money than the nutrition pamphlets the USDA used to hand out at the schools when I was growing up? The Department of Agriculture has always been concerned about the health of the U.S. citizens. During WWII they went so far as to hand out milk, raisins and apples to school kids because recruitment offices were discovering so many guys trying to sign up had rickets and other conditions that poor nutrition caused. If you don't like government resources used to educate people about food you should have started back in the 1940s with your nit-picking. The website has all kinds of resources on it for those who actually want and need it. No one needs your approval for the recipes posted there.

Didn't the Obama's promise Hope & Change? Just because something was done wrong in the past, doesn't justify it now.

At least you now admit that it's a waste of tax dollars and essentially nonsense.

In no way did I "admit" that what the USDA is doing on their website is a waste of tax dollars or nonsense. Quit putting words in other people's mouths and selectively edit their posts to deliberately mislead. I was making a compassion between the past and now to prove that Mrs. Obama didn't invent the government wheel when it comes to trying to educate people about nutrition.

Back in my day, the parents took care of their children's health. Now everyones running around investing in programs like Diabetes Destroyed which is only going to tell them what they already knew: fix your diet, fix your exercise, clean up your lifestyle. These poor children are caught in the crossfire of a war going on between big names making money off sugar and people who realize that it's destroying our country with chronic diseases.

So what? A healthy recipe is being shared. So what if it is called a S'more? Do you get mad at Morningstar "CHIK" patties because they are not real chicken?

The purpose is a good one. Some of you are simply continuously whining about everything the First Lady does because you can't stand to see her there. Grow up.

OK..... About that "constantly" thing. Maybe she calls this a carrot salad.

i.e. Obama confuses facebook level blather with something appropriate for the USDA. It's almost as nonsensical as those who make every excuse for it.
Can you tell me in what context this photo was taken. Did a child give it to her and she felt obligated to eat it or what. You probably don't even know the circumstances. You just found this pic on the internet and decided to post it to try and justify your post

...a cultural tradition like s'mores, which you only eat on rare occasions, does not need to be changed. I have never eaten a smore outside of a campfire setting. Never once.
