Do you think the majority should have the right to decide during elections/referendums in terms of everything?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_Index (U.S. ranks 19th place; many European countries and Canada have higher democracy index rate)

I think that's the eventuality of where we are headed to be honest. I think we will still have legislatures, but the controversial issues will be out of their hands.

No. As the old saying goes, democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner.

I would expand that to:

1)Democracy is 9 wolves and 1 sheep deciding what is for dinner

2) Compared to what we have now where the wealthy elite control everything:
2 wolves and 8 sheep deciding whats for dinner.

People are getting less screwed with option 1

That would require a major rewrite of the Constitution of every state and fed.

Not going to happen.

Good grief.
Half the whites would vote to deport themselves.

No.

I *like* the constitution.

You only have to look at the different outcomes of the French and American Revolutions to see why.

I would, however, like to see the legal fiction of corporate personhood limited rather drastically from what it is now. But I don't think we have to throw out the baby with the bathwater in order to do it.

From what I can tell, most Americans have trouble understanding the Constitution much less amending it, or passing meaningful legislation.
