Israel lobby has nothing to do with this. The BDS movement is detrimental and anti-Semitic at its heart.
You know the illinois pension system is broke? Somewhat ironic that its legislature is passing laws on how pensionfunds should be invested.
But in your eyes its Israel dollars over those of the American workers.
Just the latest in boycotts by states and really not likely to have much effect except the states that vote such things in endwhich will restrict trade there. I am a supporter of Israel but do not favor politics by boycotts.
This is more complicated. BDS movements are very popular on college campuses. This anti-Semitic organization has tried to delegitimize Israel. South Carolina has also passed the bill and 18 other states are in the process. You realize at State schools, this organization is sponsored with state money... No thanks.

Instead of trying to delegitimize me Mr. BDS, you should read the article.
The article does not specify how pension funds should be used, but how it should not be used. Simply, money will not be invested in companies who choose to boycott Israel.

So says the Israel Lobby. In reality this is a peaceful measure to protest Israeli war crimes, atrocities and illegal settlement building under the 4th Geneva convention.
And also in reality the response of the Israel lobby is typical... Criticism against it will be outlawed, if you do criticize the State you are an anti-Semite and we will block/persecute all means of *peaceful* protest so therefore your only options are to 1) Give up resistance... 2) Resort to violence or the support thereof so the Lobby can label you a terrorist and further spread hysteria and fear.
But why do I post? You're an ardent Zionist whom can never see the other side or the negative consequences of Israel's actions. Oy vey.

Now you are resorting to semantics lol

Your answer is over simplified and your supporting evidence is incorrect.
Fourth Geneva Convention does not apply to the West Bank because the status of the West Bank is "Disputed" and not "occupied". The West Bank is not an independent sovereign nation so Israel cannot be In violation of the 4th. The only binding resolution to solve the West Bank dispute is UNSC 242. If borders are not mutually negotiated followed by a peace agreement, viva la status quo, no Palestinian State.
The BDS movement ignores this and it's policy is to hurt the Israeli economy in a way that will eventually have trouble self sustaining as a country. The BDS movement grants one particular group of people the right to a state and not the other group. This is pure anti-Semitism by rejecting the legal rights of the Jewish people to dwell in the state of Israel.
Too tie this history lesson to the BDS and Congress, The U.S will no longer invest in the BDS movement which is more harmful than helpful. The BDS movement is also in contrary to U.S foreign policy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

I'm not doing anything, I just posted an article for discussion.

Back peddling much? The genocide comment is intellectually dishonest and factually incorrect, so I will not respond to your bs. But lets address the issues of your country first before you start addressing others.

That argument about settlements is *only* the Israeli position. The U.S., the UK, France, Russia and of course the entirety of the Muslim world does not view the settlements as legal.
Further the Israeli position *only* can be taken seriously if they are confiscating land for settlement building on a *temporary* basis for the purposes of security. Anyone can see that these settlements are hardly meant for some sort of temporary tourism... Here's an op-Ed on the subject by an Israeli writer...
