Often when I hate on transsexuals for being greedy and arrogant one of the things I am told is that how they choose to live is none of my concern. And they would be right if they just took care of themselves. But they don't. They want society to pay for their stuff for them.

So transsexuals, tell me this. Why should everybody else who is not transsexual, have to pay for your plastic surgeries and construct new restrooms just for you? What exactly do we owe you? Your lifestyle not being our concern isn't actually a valid argument if you expect us to chip in on your fiscal costs. We don't see gays and lesbians demand free stuff from the government just for being gay, so why should you be treated any differently?

?

What are you talking about?

Are you referencing that one case in (I think) California of the prisoner?

I know of a few transgendered individuals - and not one thinks someone else should pay for their drugs/surgery.

Perhaps this hasn't happened as much in the USA yet, but look at what is now going on in Europe. I assure you that the same thing will start happening in the USA before too long if it isn't already.

I should also add that in Europe these people aren't shy about trying to shield themselves with hate speech laws.

doesn't make any difference, how many cases he is referring to; his question is legit. I don't think referring to transgender as a life style is accurate, but I do not think, as a tax payer I should pay for their drugs or their surgeries. There is a time when we have to draw the line. Just because someone feels they are in the wrong body doesn't make it so or our responsibility to help them get, what they think is the right body.

If people like you would just mind their own business, then there wouldn't be any need for "transsexual bathrooms". Who cares if someone who was born a man and is becoming woman uses a certain type of bathroom?

I never heard of any trans people demanding free stuff from the government. Trans people are only a tiny segment of the population anyway. Lots of irresponsible women out there constantly pop out babies that they can't afford to have, and taxpayers have to foot the bill for that. So how is it any different to pay for transsexual procedures?

Perhaps we should just stop giving money to such people?

For the record, I don't think the government should fund sex reassignment surgeries nor do I think companies should be forced to have their insurance plans pay for birth control.

No one is saying you can't have it. But if you want it, you cover the bill.

With that being said, unless there's some large movement that I've missed, I haven't really heard of Trans groups insisting that the government pick up the tab for their care here in the US.

I got a question for you Ms Arkansas. What about folks who chose to over eat, and we have to pay for their drugs and surgeries? How about smokers? How about young girls who like to screw around after church and get pregnant?
