Two heroes of the Dem party were racist (FDR and LBJ) and there's plenty of documentation to back that up.

A lot of you have no sense of history plus it's fun to annoy the sanctimonious libs out there.

The southern Democrats' history from 50 years ago has morphed into the GOP's present.

Interesting how things can evolve over half a century.

And it's so fun to see today's conservos squirming over their party's persistent attraction to the racists, creationists, and religious weirdos.

The GOP may not be racist, but it's #1 with racists.

And so what?

Policies matter, personalities don't.

When are you people going to figure that out?

That's right they do. Have you studied their policies and the the reasons behind them ?

I would say that LBJ's policies have worked out exactly the way he predicted they would.

This such tired right wing trick of trying to paint all pre civil rights era Democrats as liberals. Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond were Democrats, they were supporters of Jim Crow is someone really going argue they had liberal bone in their body? It was clearly the conservatives wing of the were party that opposing equality and modern conservatives don't want that taint on them.

Democrats called General Colin Powell a "house nixxer".

Democrats called Condi Rice an "Aunt Jemima"

uh oh, they better scrub the presidential list. What a history the Democrats have.

Lyndon B. Johnson (racist democrat)
"I'll have those n***ers voting Democratic for the next 200 years."

Roosevelt (racist democrat)
New Deal recovery programs were generally limited to Whites. And FDR had no desire to challenge segregation. FDR was a racist bigot who detested black people and allowed labor unions to exclude blacks from work that they desperately needed to survive the darkest days of America.

Woodrow Wilson (Democrat, racist, white supremacist)
believed white southerners to be the only real citizens and considered blacks an ignorant and inferior race.

Ku Klux Klan, the terrorist arm of the Democrat Party,

White gangs roamed New Orleans, intimidating blacks and breaking up Republican meetings.

Jim Crow Laws: instituted by the Democrat Party in the South

The Democrat Party wanted the Arkansas National Guard to enforce segregation, and Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican President, that sent the 101st Airborne to integrate the schools.

Bull Connor (Democrat National Committee), who turned the hoses on the marchers in Birmingham

The Democrat Party is and has always been the party of racism. They supported slavery, then racial separation, and then when there were enough votes to go the other way, racism against whites. Divisiveness and racism defines the Democrat party, without which, they could not exist.

As blacks vote overwhelmingly for the Dems, I assume you believe that blacks either can't think for themselves or wish to be 'enslaved' again.

I'm grateful that a majority of conservatives believe that, it will ensure that the Republicans will never earn much more than a tiny fraction of the black vote.

Nothing has really change. The Democrats of today are merely more deceptive in their tactics of keeping blacks down. The sad thing is that so many blacks haven't yet figured it out.

Well with their history, even recent history, what democrats do? Have an epiphany or did they learn how to play blacks?

Democrat Reid of Obama ... clean
