Sounds more like the actions of a right-wing government to me.
This is obviously left-wing tax money and priorities. Left wing authoritarian public employees and Working People, funded with the Big Government public money you squeal so hard to promote. Are your eyes lying to you?
The progressive left has always promoted the hyper-state that builds police state. The Warsaw Pact was police state, the Kims' DPRK is police state. Progressive leftists historically construct police states--so why does this surprise you?
Why would you want to paint hyper-state ideals onto a right wing that wants smaller government and lower taxes (which denies resources for this)? Is it that the left is publicly embarrassed when the dark underbelly of well-funded left wing authoritarianism is exposed yet again for the world to see?
Well let's see, the European Fascists were police states but right-wing, all the more recent police-state crap in this country started under a Republican-controlled government...

The European fascists were comprised of the editor of Italy's most notorious Socialist newspaper, Avanti! ("Forward!'), as well as the founder of the nearby German Workers Party--later the Nat. Socialist German Workers Party.
As you full well understand, no right winger would want to be within 10 miles of a function with "Sozialisten" and "Arbeiter" scribbled over the doorbell (any more than a progressive would want to be on the doorstep of a Tee-Partei one). You rather understand that progressives would find socialist workers parties spelled out like NSDAP particularly attractive.
So who exactly do you think you're fooling?
Obots who disown ~O~ after they saw that the public reacts negatively to progressivism's dark underbelly are even reading from the same playbook as their political antecedents', who attempted to disown their publicly ultimately-disfavored Socialist Workers Party founder, Hitler, after Nuremburg.

~O~'s predecessor is a neocon (aka leftist Republican, aka Rockefeller Republican). Neoconservatism is "neo-" (i.e., 'new-,' 'improved-,' 'lefty anodyne-') for a reason. It is, on record, Trotskyism brought by Bill Kristol's father, Irving Kristol, into the U.S. via Mexico City in the 1950s.

You both have no understanding of the difference between an authoritarian and democratic state.
It has nothing to do with left vs right/ R vs D...
