And which of those do you take as being direct "We will destroy Israel" threats?
They seem like little more than political blathering BS to me, not much different than the threats against the US issued by the nut job in N Korea.
So apparently, what you are saying is that any threat made by any official from Iran, should not be taken seriously and is only banter. Therefore, Iran has never made a threat against Israel. Interesting logic..
Also, I can tell you that the threats from the little chubster dear leader in N. Korea are taken very seriously. He is stupid enough to act on them at some point.

Since Israeli officials have often told us Israel can defend itself I see no reason to fear for their existence and no, I don't place much stock in politicians saying what they think their people want to hear being very meaningful.
History is full of 'leaders' making empty threats to embellish their own images, how many ever put their own butts on the line to back up their blather? As long as the powers that be in Teheran or anywhere else understand they'll quickly become crispy critters if they mess with the US, I see no great reason to worry.
If we really need fear a nation like Iran we've been sadly duped by those running our Defense Department.

It's a statement that IF they're attacked they'll respond in kind, nothing more.
