I try and remember that everyone human being is in fact a human being and to never take that away from them. No one is subhuman or less than human, no matter what. Each individual should be treated with dignity and decency. If that's love, then I love all people.
Not from my house. In point of fact, I can do without a large number of people. Two, maybe three, I have genuine affection for. Only gwl, for certain, do I Love.
Batted is a strong term, and I reserve the pure form of that, distasteful but unavoidable, emotion , for a select few individuals. Ones I don't think about, unless I have to. I certainly prefer the way I feel with the people I love. They are a rare and precious gift, as is the way they make me feel. Dislike comes easy. Hate a bit less so, but still easier than love. Live doesn't come easy , at all, that's why its so precious. I like things that way.
Good question, but I agree with others above who pointed out that we need a clearer definition of "love". How many people can a person truly love?
I think the more important question is -- since this is CD after all -- who holds a better sense of good faith and decency toward mankind? Liberals or conservatives? Well, we know from a large work of academic studies that conservatives are more charitable than liberals. They're also better tippers.
I think liberals love humanity in an abstract sense... they want to defend the poor and the "middle class" but only if it's with other people's money. I think liberals are more likely to change the color of their avatar on Facebook or hold a sign to show their support for a cause or altruistic meme, whereas conservatives are more action based and not as concerned with image. I'm sure some will eviscerate me for that, but it seems to be the way things are.
