Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism: What Exactly Is It, And Why Does It Hurt?
Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism, or TERF, is a loosely-organized collective with a message of hate and exclusion against transgender women in particular, and transgender people as a whole. They have attached themselves to radical feminism as a means to attempt to deny trans women basic access to health care, women's groups, restroom facilities, and anywhere that may be considered women's space.
I'm not sure why you think this is about social justice or about the Progressive movement??? I believe this has been an issue for a while. It should tell you that no group is monolithic and ideas of what a woman is varies or can vary by various sub-groups. You should take a Sociology course if you are really interested in this stuff. I bet a local Community College has a course on Gender Studies you can take.

Probably from Canada. Canadian feminists are known to be radical. They interrupted a MRA conference in Toronto a couple years ago. One of them pulled the fire alarm. There's a video of it on YouTube.
My mother is anything but a feminist - any more conservative and she'd be Amish.
But if you want to see her go nuts, tell her some transgender is now calling himself somebody's 'mother.'
That's HER role, her title, and she's not giving it up to any guy no matter what operation he had!
