I know no one can logically say that they would actually pull the trigger without being in the situation, but if you caught someone molesting one of your children, and you happened to be a concealed carry weapon owner, do you think you could use it?
Do you think you'd get prosecuted/convicted?
How would a judge/jury see it? Or are child molesters looked at by 99.99% of society as so low that no punishment is harsh enough?
I'm thinking of the dad in FL who beat the hell out of the guy who he caught molesting his son. That guy didn't get in any trouble and was hailed as a hero.

I don't know. A guy here locally just killed a guy that was supplying his wife drugs. Did it with his bare hands. If you get mad enough there are a lot of things one could do.

I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it, but I don't have children. I wouldn't automatically judge a parent who did.

It depends on the exact circumstance. If the crime is happening then certainly.

Hard to say - if I caught someone in the act, I might in a fit of rage.

Depends on the level of molestation. If the person is trying to rape the child, then without a doubt I would kill him. If the person was feeling the child's butt, then I would try to beat the crap out of him.

Depends if the perp is caught "in the act", if your reaction can be described as "in the heat of the moment", what the act is, and if it's a relative or stranger.

So this is only sorta related....

I was watching one of those shows on TV about some guy that got convicted of a murder way back in the day, then after many many years got out as it seemed he was innocent.

it seems that maybe his wife, who at the time worked for the police and had access, might have planted evidence in the file that pointed to her husband....

long story short, his son comes around to believing his dad was innocent and his mom was the bad guy. Son works to get dad outta jail, they do it, a year later dad gets arrested for molestation of family members.

crazy story.

This! If you walk in on a molester attacking your child, you are probably authorized to use lethal force to save your child from in imminent threat of death or serious harm.

If you find out after the fact, go marching into the Molester's house and unload your shotgun into him you are a murderer.

The key words are threat of imminent death or serious bodily harm. If you can't clearly articulate that state of being at the time you take someone's life, you are committing murder.
