The anti-government "Patriot" group the Oath Keepers is sending armed guards to protect Kim Davis from further arrest if she continues to defy the Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage.
Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes:
"This judge needs to be put on notice that his behavior is not going to be accepted and we’ll be there to stop it and intercede ourselves if we have to. If the sheriff, who should be interceding, is not going to do his job and the governor is not going to do the governor’s job of interceding, then we’ll do it.”
Rhodes and a number of his armed thugs are on their way to Kentucky now. Their plan is to "educate" the sheriff on his responsibilty to block the actions of the federal court, and that his group is "ready to lead by example" to prevent Davis from being re-arrested.
In all seriousness, I certainly don't want this to end in any armed conflict. However, I'm also a believer in rule of law.
The best thing that could happen right now is for Kim Davis to resign. The ball is in her court and blood, potentially, could be on her hands.
(Though you certainly wouldn't know it from her horrid frumpish appearance), Kim Davis isn't going to quit her cushy well-paid job voluntarily --- unless and until she's offered a job as Fox News commentator.
"To defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic"
Since Kim Davis is defying the constitution, seems like a bunch of off-purpose attention whoring to me.
Armed attention whoring. What do they plan to do should Davis defy the SC and the marshals come to arrest her? Bar the doors? Hold the office hostage? This could get ugly.
They are claiming that she didn't get due process. I'm not sure what they consider due process, but she was sued, went to court, and appealed all the way to the supreme court. I thought that was due process.
