There are Syrians coming for sure but they are not all refugees. Once they leave Syria and get to a safe place like Turkey they COULD stay there but the welcome mat was rolled out by Germany and everyone wants to go there because it's better, as are the surrounding EU countries for the most part. It's not about fleeing for their lives at that point, it's just wanting to move somewhere else. The rest are not refugees at all but migrants coming from Africa and South Central Asia. While some areas are no doubt crappy they aren't war refugees but economic migrants looking for a better life in a better place who were also told to come on down.
This is why you get different stories on how many women and children vs young men. Apples to Oranges with some Grapes on the side. All combined though it makes for an unpleasant fruit salad.
