Like Libya?

Obama is good at one thing, leaving the people of Mid East countries flapping in the wind, after the US has destroyed their military and their form of government.

At least Bush was trying to assist Iraq to become a stable sovereign nation that could defend itself, Obama did not even attempt it with Libya.

Oct, 2011, President’s Deputy National Security Advisor Denis McDonough, "So when the President laid out a vision for the future of Iraq in February 2009 down at Camp LeJeune -- many of you were there -- he said what we’re looking for is an Iraq that’s secure, stable and self-reliant, and that’s exactly what we got here. So there’s no question this is a success."

"I am very optimistic about -- about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You're going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You're going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government," said Biden.

This was before Obama pulled out and pissed away all the gains we had made, so he could keep his campaign promise and get reelected.

GW Bush warned us of exactly what would happen if the next president decided to pull out of Iraq too soon. Obama withdrew with great fanfare, and then sat back and watched ISIL take over.

Bush: “To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we're ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to Al Qaida … It'd mean that we'd be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It'd mean we'd allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It'd mean we'd be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.”
There were no gains in Iraq. The minute the U.S. invaded it was destined to be a disaster.

Even while U.S. troops were there the Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds were fighting each other. Al Qaeda was not in Iraq before the U.S. invasion, they were able to flow in after the removal of Saddam.

ISIS now is using the weapons we left behind, and there generals who ensured ISIS successes are Saddam's formal generals. ISIS would not be as powerful, or maybe not even exist if the U.S. never invaded.

At the same time Bush signed the SOFA in 2008 that mandated all U.S. forces be out of Iraq by the end of 2011. Obama tried to extend, but the Iraqi government said no.

Iraq WAS a "stable sovereign nation" before Bush got us involved there.

When's the last time we had a viable candidate professing 'non-meddling' as a basic plank in his platform?

BTW, I mean besides Bush who despite claiming he didn't believe in using the military for nation building proceeded to make a lame attempt at doing just that.

Another Obama success story: ends $500 million training program for anti-ISIS rebels

Another military training program about as successful as the one that allegedly trained the Iraqi Army, the army that turned tail and ran away when faced with battle. The military the 'less-spending' right continually wants to spend MORE $$$ on.

They went back to the petrodollar for trading oil. That's was the success.
Same success for Libya.

Now we need that same type of "success" in Syria and Iran
