Clintons and Obama's don't like each other but Hillary can't get more of a brown arm when you hear her talking about Obama, which is just because she needs him when she gets indicted and sentenced so she get her Pardons before he leaves office.
The only person I ever heard of receiving a Presidential pardon for unproven crimes was Junior Johnson a great NASCAR driver and notorious moonshine maker and delivery man. FWIW - He and his family are now legally making and selling Moonshine to anyone that can stand it.
Ms. Clinton is very unlikely to be indicted for any crimes let alone requiring a pardon from President Obama.
I will bet a dime to a dollar that if any pardonable offense that could even vaguely be associated with Hillary her campaign would be headed south and I don't mean south Carolina.
I can see a recommendation from the FBI since the director is set in a 10 year term and cannot be replaced unless he dies (could be a worry when discussing sending Hillary to jail) or quits/retires. But I would be Lynch would NEVER follow through with an indictment cause Obama won't let her. But, if she loses, that could be another story altogether.
And yes, legally Obama could pardon Clinton anytime for any future offense. In fact, a president MIGHT be able to pardon himself/herself, but that has never been tried.
I believe it was President Johnson in 1866 pardoned a Confederate senator (Garland) (not sure why) and SCOTUS confirmed the pardon Ex parte Garland that the pardon power "extends to every offence known to the law, and may be exercised at any time after its commission, either before legal proceedings are taken, or during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment."
Ford pardoned Nixon for any acts committed while he was a president. And he (Nixon) had not been convicted of any crimes, at the time of pardon.
Believe the ruling is still valid, but I would guess if Obama did, it might be taken to SCOTUS again, but right now it sure appears legal!
