Now if Hillary was smart she'd be issuing a statement in support of these students outrage over nothing being done about their discrimination issues.

That would lock in the vote for her from these newbies to the political process

Why would that happen because of this? This factor alone is not enough to determine the results of upcoming elections. Even if what you say could happen does, if this was what you were basing it on, you'd be correct by accident.

Maybe not a landslide, but I've often been under the impression that events like these only grow the "Silent Majority" that typically vote Republican.

That would only be true if the Republicans were doing nothing.

But remember that there also events that shift the "Silent Majority" to voting Democrat.
