Lets forget the fact of the number that eisenhower deported and the fact that the immigration policy in america from 1920's on to kennedy

"During the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, over 80 percent of all immigrant visas were granted to people from northern and western European countries, 14 percent to eastern and southern Europeans, and 4 percent to people from other Eastern Hemisphere countries." Not to mention the number of immigrants allowed?

"In 1921, Congress passed the Temporary Quota Act, which set numerical restrictions on immigrant admissions, and in 1924, this was set at 150,000 per year"

While I agree the asian and indian immigration has been fantastic for the stem economy, what is trumps policy to all the muslims in america and the third world immigrants and basically the numbers of immigrants allowed into the country? At some point does the immigration numbers change now, like they radically changed since kennedy and johnson?

The US is VERY strict with immigration from other countries. They have a lottery system. Each country is allotted a certain number of visas per year. If you are poor and have no education, you probably won't even be able to get into the visa lottery.

I have a coworker from India with a PhD. He is able to work for 6 more months on his student visa, but after that he will need to apply for a permanent work visa. There's no guarantee he will get one (even though our employer is sponsoring him) because it's all lottery based.

Most of our legal immigration is now based on family reunification, not on nationality, skills, the amount of money you have, etc.

The 1965 immigration bill sponsored by Ted Kennedy resulted in about 90% of legal immigrants being poor, uneducated and from the Third World. Both legal and illegal immigration have created a flood of cheap labor that has kept American wages stagnant for decades.

The special visa for high tech workers is limited, but even so it has been used by employers to fire American workers and replace them with lower paid foreign workers.

May drunken Teddy rot in his grave for starting this mess. He said that act would not change the demographics of our country nor would it harm us.

Exactly. First he destroyed that poor girl in Chappaquidick, and then he destroyed America.

And he lied at every turn.
