Not only do I think it will not have an effect on Obama's agenda, but I believe it will do the opposite. Why wouldn't the general public want to be armed more now than ever?
Not only is Obama arrogant, he is also an idealist. That can be a lethal combination. In Obama's mind, because he thinks it, that makes it so. He has invested himself in selling the American public the idea that ME Muslims are harmless, good people. He will never back off of this idea. To do so would be to admit that he was wrong. That isn't going to happen. Look no further than how he excuses the misdeeds of illegals. He minimizes the harm done and the fact that thousands of US Citizens have fallen victim to illegals. US citizens have already fallen victim to refugees from the ME. He will never address this as a problem.
In regard to gun control. Fast and furious blew up in his face and still he deflected and blamed others. He politicizes each and every mass shooting. He prefers to blame the majority of gun owners for the acts of a very select few. Rather than address how or why those select few the majority of which were mental health patients. So no the attack on France won't impact his thinking. After all he has done his best to convince us that not only does he have ISIS contained, but that ME Muslims are no threat. He is obviously wrong, but an idealist who is also arrogant will never admit their mistake.
I have been debating with people about that if civillians in France could get a gun license through training and maybe carry a handgun that just maybe more people would have been alive. You know what the anti gun people said? You can't use a gun to shoot at a bomb and I stated no fools you shoot at the person before they detonate and then they said so if everyone is armed in a theater and then I just stopped talking because they are those people who believe that I want to give guns out to everyone. It's impossible to argue with people who are scared of guns and biased on the whole subject in the first place.
Hopefully the whole gun debate starts becoming more of a concern to our European counterparts on allowing themselves to defend themselves against terror. I'm not even stating that European countries should have the same laws as in the United States though I do believe that if those who were interested in defending themselves and others were required to take a gun safety class and then purchase a handgun to carry it could be a win win situation for all.
When good, law-abiding people are unarmed, they're sitting ducks.
