Desegregation is good, but people self regulate into tribes to some extent anyway.
Affirmative action was the worst though robbing many blacks of a college education. I saw many examples of this at USC and other colleges where someone who would rock a state college BA or BS but instead gets bumped up with AA to USC, UCLA and such.
At the great school they are getting 30s instead 80s and drop out with no degree.
I consider that major damage to the black community.

Anyway....institutionalized (by law) segregation is anti-American and therefore was a disaster for the whole country. It was especially bad for African Americans.
That's all.

Reason: rude
This has been asked over and over. I find this to be a very stupid question. The Black middle class is larger than it was during Jim Crow. More Blacks have college degrees than during Jim Crow. More Blacks in professional jobs than back in Jim Crow. The way I see it, the future is brighter than in Jim Crow. Now, with the underclass segment of the Black population, it really wouldn't matter. People will point to ghettos and claim that integration caused that. No. If it takes forcing Black people to live in one section of town, then the problem is not integration.

Exactly... progress has been made and is continuing - it is just not highlighted as progress.
What is highlighted is bad race relations and bad behavior.

Can't rep you...
No issue about the rep. Progress can be found. Arguing that segregation was better for Blacks is quite a farce. The truth is, there are those who want to see Jim Crow come back.
This question is asked 500 years too late. If the Europeans would have had morals above their greed they would have left the black nations alone and in fact passed laws forbidding contact with them until their culture and technology was compatible with Europe's. As far as America, they should have made an agreement to leave part of the continent to the Indian occupiers but then left them alone to sink or swim on their own.
The mixing has been terrible, too many people taken advantage of and we are seeing the destructive side affects more today than ever.
If we had a tough, no nonsense culture that forces people to assimilate and forget their old cultures we would be much better off and it would be a great thing for EVERYONE. But this limp wristed everyone's a winner GARBAGE is ruining this country.
Well, if we were thoroughly integrated we would all be mixed
