Congress to undermine the president on climate change?

"As more than 190 nations meet this week to negotiate an agreement to limit greenhouse gases, President Obama finds himself in a terrible bind.
On one side is international pressure to vest any climate deal with what international law considers to be binding legal force. On the other is the political difficulty, even the impossibility, of approving a climate treaty under our Constitution because of the need for approval by two-thirds of the Senate"

He knew this before he left. Kyoto didn't get a single vote (R or D). Knowing this he should have stayed home and saved us millions of dollars.

I think it has changed since then, seems like it has some momentum except on the home front. Even Exxon has come around but congress is another story.

that is because congress still sees the reality that these talks are not about climate change, but rather taxing the wealthier nations so the UN can redistribute that money to poorer nations. dont forget that china and india both will be exempted from any such climate tax, despite the fact that they are two of the biggest emitters of carbon dioxide in the world today.

Hey, 40 years is a LONG time. That's like 280 dog years, amirite?

I'm very skeptical of things where large sums of money are involved.

its not even just the money either, but it gives regulatory teeth to the UN and makes it a world governmental body, and it gives the world court teeth also.

These Climate Conferences are just events where scammers try to get their fingers into your money. We are already doing the things that need to be done with our emissions regulations, clean energy initiatives, epa mileage targets, etc. So thank God our Congress is going to limit what our traitorous President would want to do to harm the USA.
