I'm going to admit that I have no knowledge of Muslims vs. Christians, but I don't think it's even fair to say Christianity is worse. So many in radical Islam killed lots of people in the name of faith. But I wonder now, how many Christians killed others?

Why such a backlash against Christianity?

some people love to travel way, way back in time to prove a point. which really doesn't prove anything at all. they just don't want to admit they lost the argument.

Who? Mostly bigoted anti-Christian leftists and/or radical Islam/jihadist apologists.

They have to go back pre-Reformation for anything remotely comparable.
Today, there is nothing on the same scale.

We won;t even talk about Christians vs Christians such as we saw in Ireland a few years ago. All religious fundamentalists are equally dangerous, regardless of their belief systems.

It is ridiculous for anyone to compare the Christian crusades with modern terrorists.
The crusades happened from 1100 to 1300 in response to muslims taking over Christian Holy sites.
The Christian soldiers butchered many people in the name of Christ. It was all out bloody war but that was 700 + years ago.
There is no comparison to be made today to what happened then except by the stupid. It is like how the current generation of white people in America is somehow responsible for slavery in the 1800's.

What is crazy is how the media doesn't really report how Christians are being slaughtered in the middle east by isis.

Christians have evolved over the 700 years since the crusades while the radical islamic idiots have remained ignorant. They probably still think that the earth is the center of the universe and the sun goes around the earth.

Minor doctrinal differences within Christianity have resulted in Wars that killed thousands and devastated territory for generations. The Thirty Years War was within Christianity and destroyed central Europe. Earlier than that were the four Crusades against Islam.

In many ways religions have been the bane of mankind.

It's nothing more than a deflection to excuse the terrorist acts of radical Muslims.

I've yet to read of a terrorist act where they cry "Bless the Lord" before setting off bombs.

Ireland is a localized matter; again, not remotely comparable to today's worldwide radical Islam/jihadi problem.

As to the link, again not comparable; local/small scale with minimal casualties. Also, McVeigh was a self-proclaimed agnostic.

I'm sure one of c-d's biggest purporters of this nonsense will weigh in shortly. In the meantime, why not examine the 'why' of this behavior? Is it because they're ignorant and truly believe what they're regurgitating? Do they hate Christians? Are they trying to justify their far left loony beliefs and can't come up with anything so they resort to some sophomoric, "yeah, but you started it" argument?

Blaming others is a popular device when you cannot debate in support of something, so that may be the reason. It becomes laughable, however, when the blame is so out there and irrelevant that it holds not even a drop of water.
