Payments to WWII Internees to Begin : Reparations: The budget agreement clears the way for the program. The oldest survivors will be the first to receive the $20,000 checks. - latimes

Or were you talking about something else?

120,000 people DIRECTLY affected by the internments.
No descendents.

Reparations for the Civil War is a moot point.

I believe the reparations were also paid to surviving Japanese - Americans who were interned.
Edit
You beat me to it.

Reparations were paid to survivors who had their businesses and homes taken away.
No generational descendants of those that died though.

Why am I not surprised at your revelation.

"Look Ethel...Rastus can read!" LMAO...

But you knew NOTHING until 2008. Amazing.

There is no one brought here, or born into bondage, to pay.

The only victim I see, is an identity crisis, of those raised to be a victim of their own skin.

As for your last patronizing comment....

Well, you seem to have all this frustration and ill-feelings bottled up inside of you. That can't be healthy. The grudges will eventually come to the surface.

And, I stand by my last statements that were anything but patronizing. If your culture can't pull yourself up by your own will then you are lost. The only one who will help you 100% is yourself. You seem to want to find fault with whatever I say. That is fine, Have a great day!!

Or exemptions for people whose ancestors weren't even here back then?

Reparation should only go to survivors which is what happened with Japanese Americans after WWII.
There are no survivors of the Civil War so there wouldn't be any reparations.

The question is what have the descendants had taken away? How many generations removed? I question what we owe? Given that not 1 person who a slave is alive and not 1 person who owned slaves is alive. Those who were victims have all died off and every slave owner has died off.
The second question is: Would reparations make any difference at all?
It won't change the past and it won't change anyones mind set.
