Why is it that a Democrat majority is 51% but a Republican majority is 60%?

Then they should have just put up a bill blocking all refugees from Syria and Iraq since that is what the bill would accomplish anyway, why the smoke screen.

Democrats are in lockstep to bring as many muslims and foreigners in as possible and don't care that they're not vetted.

Liberals/democrats are enemies of the US. It makes perfect sense.

Every murder, rape, attack, etc is on THEM. This is treason. Just look at what is happening in Europe!!!!!

They want the votes not the safety of the US

This is why it's time to flush congress down the toilet and start over with people that want to protect the citizens of the US.

Funny but this thread is titled "tighter Syrian Refugee Screening" but I have yet to hear the details of additional screening that was in the bill. Why are you in favor of the bill, how does it reduce the threat or is everyone blindly in favor. All I saw was they wanted the director of the FBI, Homeland Security, etc. to sign a guarantee, that is not better screening that is just a delay tactic. The FBI director already indicated this sill stop refugees from those countries from entering the US.

This is the current screening process that takes 18-24 months, what needs to be changed?

You waiting on someone in Congress to call you up and tell you ?

The House bill, which passed, only asked for an FBI background check to be added to the DHS check.

None of the vetting we do will suffice because we do not have access to any databases in ME countries that harbor terrorists.

Boxes of blank passport forms were stolen from towns in Syria and Iraq by ISIS.
Turkey is selling Syrian passports for $2K and throw in a DL as well.

Pray tell what an iris scan will accomplish when we have nothing to check it against except our own databases ?

Well what would the FBI background check look like since most do not have any records, they all ready do biometric and finger printing as you indicated. Yes there are missing records, that will not change.

I am still have not heard an answer as to what specific checks the FBI will be performing according to the bill yet everyone is in favor.

It's called "accountability" which no one in the government wants to shoulder.
No one wants to put their name on paper..neither Comey nor Johnson.

Both Clapper and Johnson have said our vetting process is not sufficient and people have slipped through our processes.

Are you just against this because it's a Republican authored bill ?

Doesn't matter what you heard or didn't hear. The FBI won't be calling you up with details.
It got defeated by the Dems so no need to fret over this bill now.

The Dems have everything under control. They are totally comfortable with the vetting process.
They just don't want to sign off on it.
