That baffles me as well. I believe they either can't grasp the science or simply refuse to acknowledge it. The funny thing is that even the people who originally started this hoax claim (energy industry) are now beginning to admit our role in this mess. However, their followers continue to parrot the lies.
I think what it boils down to is money. We are going to have to invest money to address the problem and they fear that. Throw the words "big government" in the mix and it propels them into full blown hysteria mode. I would be interested to see the reaction if a solution could be found that wouldn't cost any money. Would they still deny the truth?
