Actually they have no say in that, only to vote on his choice.

I still think Obama might go with a recess appointment thus bypassing the Senate, end the controversy for a year.

Agreed, he sure was my first choice to go. Condolences to his family as it is a sad day for them, but it's good new for the rest of America.

Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president,” the Kentucky Republican said in a statement.
I didn't think they had the balls. This is good news.
