Considering how corrupt our politicians are do you really think things could be much worse having an all-powerful King or Emperor?

Why do you think our current president has been nicknamed King Obama?

Accepting the argument that the current politicians are as corrupt as you believe then I would suggest that it is a level of corruption acceptable to the American populace and if such a time arises that they become unsatisfied with the level of supposed corruption they are just a free to peaceful remove them through a democratic process. The problem with your question is that in the case of corrupt and despotic autocrats you don't get to make a choice. Get it?

Considering most immigrants want to come here, I'm assuming the answer is yes. Democrats would love to take this country in that direction, increasing the size of government for example.

I always thought it was because many cannot express political opinions in an intelligent way. What's the got to do with the topic though?

Our politicians, while corrupt, are still dependent on votes. A king is not.

The best form of government is a kind king; the worst form of government is an evil king. The problem is you can't always tell which one you will get. Study the history of Great Britain, France, or any other monarchy and you will see.
