That is, if you want to make more than the federal minimum wage with benefits.

Although I'm compelled to point out that free school is useful for educating the lumpen masses, for instance, people who never learned the proper usage of "Your" vs "You're."

HTH

Sure, there are vocational jobs that don't require bachelor's degrees.

College is NOT necessarily required to participate! If you want to be an engineer (like myself), then yes, it is necessary but let's face it, a large percentage of the college majors are nearly or totally useless. What does a degree in history prepare you for? A 35k teaching job? How about anthropology, archeology-fascinating but unlikely to lead to employment in the field. Philosophy? Anything in the arts? How about Women's Studies? Take a look at available courses at any university and you will see exactly what I mean. People incur insane amounts of debt on fields of study that will never pay off and then expect the taxpayers to foot the bill.

Ironically, it is the older generation that literally wants the government to wipe its ass, via Medicare.

But back to the point at hand, most millenials just want to see college tuition under control. It is Bernie Sanders, a 74-year old man, who has expressed a desire for "free college tuition."

I would happily wash my hands of the government's responsibility to me, as long as they reimburse me the monies I've funded to Medicare with the extra I would have made had I invested that money.

And you honestly think that when the government starts writing checks for college, the cost will go down? LOL
